Jim McDonnell was the 1982 ABA lightweight champion and later Commonwealth  silver medal winner.
European Champion as a pro and beating 3 out of 5 world champions, boxing twice for the world title and conquered Barry McGuigan.
He is the brother of referee Marcus McDonnell. After an illustrious career in  the ring he is ringside again as trainer to some of the UK finest up and coming boxers Including -"Golden" James DeGale,
Simon "fighting Irish" O'Donnell, Steve O'Meara, Steve Murray, Paul Halpin and Mehrdud Takaloo.
Jimmy Mac also trains MMA
champion Roger Gracie.
